Fight For the Troops: Saturday January 22, 2011

A decent card for a great cause. Here are the results:

Dunham Versus Guillard= Guillard By KO

Guillard’s training with Greg Jackson has been very obvious. His ridiculous speed made me and Evan Dunham look dumb. Dunham could barely react to the punches before they hit him. Guillard is the real deal and now has the camp to go along with his freakish skills.

Mitrione Versus Hague= Mitrione By KO

Mitrione wants to move like a Dominick Cruze. He said that was his game plan. The statement may sound absurd coming from a 260 pound heavyweight but MAN DID HE LOOK GOOD. He is so light on his feet and his hands are like bricks. I also love his attitude. He is easy going and cracks me up. He hit Hague twice with bombs in the first round, one of them braking his hand. Hague never stood a chance and curled up in the fetal position.

Look for a tougher challenge for Mitrione soon.

Hominick Versus Roop= Hominick By KO

Hominick is ready for a title shot with Aldo. He cleaned Roop’s clock with pin point striking to the face. He is so solid technically. The only question is can he keep up with Aldo’s speed?

Barry Versus Beltran= Barry By Decision

Barry needed to be poked in the eye to actually care about what was going on. He is so frustrating for fans. His power can end most fights in the first round if he feels like it. His problem is that he seems half asleep when he shows up.

When Barry did show up in the second round his vicious leg kicks all but embarrassed the Mexicutioner. The poor guy probably won’t walk till Tuesday.

Miller Versus Wiman= Wiman By Decision

SO much trash talk and only one guy backed it up! Matt Wiman showed everyone he is the real deal. He beat up, embarassed, and dominated Miller from round 1. His heavy hands and relentless pace rocked Miller early and he never really recovered. Wiman was humble in his post fight interview and should be up for a top ten fight next.
