Check out this picture of Diego Sanchez  after last night’s war with Martin Kampman. This is the NICEST looking one of him I can find. This one on of the best displays of heart I have seen in a long time, easily as good as Frankie Edgar. Kampman laid bomb after bomb on Diego’s face in the first round. I am shocked he didn’t finish Diego off.

If you have ever watched Diego, you know he doesn’t quit.

Diego came out in the second round and continued his failed attempts to take Kampman down. When it became obvious that wasn’t going to work, he made the conscious decision to turn the fight into a brawl. This was a wise decision as he landed a couple of big shots while he had Kampman up against the cage.

The third round saw more wild exchanges with Diego looking more and more like something from a horror film. Kampman also looked worse for wear as the “street fight” had opened a couple of cuts over his left eye.

At the end, it was one of the best fights I have seen in a while and it clearly demonstrated the size of Diego’s heart.

Who won? Well Diego did……but after a fight like that, who cares?
