Dana White has done it again.
His five year battle with the Province of Ontario has come to an end. The UFC will be hosting their biggest event in history, April 30, in Toronto.
SOOOOOO what makes this announcement such a big deal?
This isn’t the first Canadian city to host the big show. Montreal has done it a few times. Vancouver was a big success. So what is so special about Toronto that it has Dana White dancing a like a little school girl?
Two words: NEW YORK
Dana knows that New York is the biggest audience in the U.S. but, much to his dismay, he hasn’t been able to break through their silly government regulations.
Toronto will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
So why will NYC care what happens in Toronto? It’s simple……
They are very similar cities.New York and T.O. believe they are better than everyone else. They could care less what happens in California or Las Vegas. They consider themselves a step up, a cut above, worthy of more attention. When Toronto set the precedent and allowed the MMA giant in, the dominoes began falling in New York.
It will be a massive event.
In fact, it may even sell out the 60,000 person Roger’s Center. The economic impact will be just as big, as thousands of of fans fly in from from the surrounding citites, provinces, and countries. Fans will flock from the nearby New York bringing their hard earned money with them and leaving it in Canada. This will be unnacceptable to the old boys running the burroughs.
I give it six months tops and the NYC event wil be announced.
So Dana gets another notch in his belt, GSP gets another tomato can to beat up, Randy gets one last run at the title, and all is well in the world.

I would love to, but I’m not going to this 1 Parky. I have made it 1 of my goals to go to 90% of all UFC and WEC events starting in 2012! I’ll be seeing you at a future 10 for 10! Awesome meeting you in Vegas!
